FAQs
What is Psychedelic-Assisted Care (PAC)?
Psychedelic-Assisted Care (PAC) has existed in different forms, at different times.
The most recent re-imagining of it in the United States is limited to specific states.
Our goal, as The National Psychedelics Association (NPA), is to be the central resource for the industry, nationally.
Our focus will expand as further states allow for this care. Our current focus is on the states where regulations allow for it. For practitioners operating in states with live, active, legal markets, we offer a number of key benefits to help dedicated professionals provide this groundbreaking care.
How do you provide your services to members?
We support clinical service providers, and practitioners. Helping them run their practice with ease, ensuring compliance, and expanding access to life-changing care.
Our mission is to simplify the work of great providers so they can focus on what matters most; helping patients in need heal and thrive.
What is the focus of your advocacy work?
At the National Psychedelics Association (the NPA) we focus our advocacy work towards furthering the legislative agenda in states that already allow for Psychedelic-Assisted Care (PAC), as well as supporting the implementation of thorough, considered, and holistic legislation in states that are continuing to consider the allowance of this care as local bills are developed. Our work to help expand legislation in existing states includes allowing for additional care scenarios to be catered for, for example, allowing for the right-to-try Psychedelic-Assisted Care (PAC) at home for those facing end-of-life or terminal diagnoses, that are unable to visit healing centers. We have also been central to supporting the foundations of legislation that has passed to allow for Psychedelic-Assisted Care (PAC) in new states, for example most recently in New Mexico.
Who is eligible for membership with the National Psychedelics Association (the NPA)?
Currently we welcome two types of member in the Psychedelic-Assisted Care (PAC) space: state licensed facilitators (practitioners offering preparation, guidance, and integration to individual patients) and state licensed healing centers (service centers). We also welcome members to join in each of those categories that are not yet licensed, those that are seeking to apply for their licenses, or those looking for support in their license application processes.
As we are focused on those that are state-licensed, or those seeking state-licensing, we are currently operating on a state-by-state basis for membership, with members being in scope from states where Psychedelic-Assisted Care (PAC) is legal.
Of course, we welcome inquiries and interest from anyone interested in or involved in the Psychedelic-Assisted Care (PAC) market, and we will help anyone we can who gets in touch or reaches out, so please don’t hesitate to contact us.
In time we will expand our membership provision to include manufacturers, cultivators, and testing facilities specific to the Psychedelic-Assisted Care (PAC) space. So if you are connected to those parts of the industry, please subscribe for our updates, or contact us to stay informed.
